Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care

Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment

Document patient information, condition, and treatment

Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights

Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures

Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients

Operate and drive ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws

Provide basic life support and gather patient data

Daily check out of assigned vehicle, and through inspection of the apparatus.

Be responsible for day to day administrative duties.

Establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public, other employees, and volunteer personnel.

Function and maintain composure in life-or-death decisions during emergency and/or adverse conditions.

Operate both as a member of a team and independently at incidents of uncertain duration.

Analyze situations quickly and objectively and to recognize actual and potentially dangerous situations, and to determine the proper course of action.

Read and write the English language in a fluent, comprehensible, and concise manner.  Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.  Must be able to compose and submit reports in a clear, concise, and complete manner.  Reports must be thorough and easily understood by both fire professionals and the public.

Learn and use basic computer skills.
